Dolls of the World - Lady Russia

Si ricomnicia? Si, dai, è arrivato settembre con le sue belle giornate illuminate da un sole d'oro che si frammenta tra le foglie e le fa vibrare di vita calda.
E piano piano, con l'inizio della scuola si ricomincia la vita di sempre, nuovi ragazzi, nuove sfide, nuove menti da aiutare e se possibile da appassionare alla cultura (progetto ambizioso? always dream big).
Ricominciamo dunque con una delle mie dolls, anche lei pronta da un po', Lady Russia. Seguiranno uno o due post dedicati a questo meraviglioso Paese che ho avuto la fortuna di visitare un paio di anni fa.


Shall we start again?, Yes, September has finally come with the beautiful days enlightened by a golden sun which breaks itself among the leaves making them vibrant of warm life.
And slowly, as the school begins, I go back to my usual life, new students, new challenges, new minds to help and if it is possible to make them understand the beauty of culture (ambitious? Yeah, always dream big).
Let's start again, then, with one of my dolls, who too has been ready for a while., Lady Russia. One or two posts will follow, dedicated to this beautiful country I've been lucky to visit a couple of years ago.

Russian Tilda Doll

Lady Russia indossa un abito tradizionale in shantung di seta grigio argento decorato da una passamaneria sui toni del rosa e bordeaux lungo lo scollo e l'apertura centrale e una blusa in voile rosa con le maniche lunghe. Lo scollo della blusa è sottolineato da un giro di perline sui toni del rosa.

 Lady Russia wears a traditional dress in silver-grey shantung decorated with a pink and burgundy ribbin aling the neck opening and the central opening, and a pink voile blouse with long sleeves. The blouse upper edge is underlined by a row of pink small beads.

Visto che fa freddo tra le steppe e la taiga, indossa anche una cappa in shantung di seta foderata in cotone con una fantasia floreale molto simile a quelle usate dalle babooshkas e bordata di finta pelliccia. La chiusura è una perla in argento glitter.

Considering it's cold among the taiga and the steppes, she also wears a shantung cape, lined with a babooshka-like flowers cotton andedged in faux-fur. The closure is made of a big silvery glitter bead.

La biancheria è composta da un paio di coulottes rosa e una sottogonna in cotone bianco decorata con piccoli fiocchetti. Lady Russia indossa anche un paio di stivaletti bordeaux foderati in  pelliccia.

Ma il lavoro più impegnativo è stato riprodurre un kokoshnik, il copricapo tradizionale. L'ho realizzato in fodera bordeaux, bordato con una passamaneria argento e decoratro con un ricamo di perline rosa e paillettes, con alcune perline pendenti lungo i lati.

The hosiery is made of a pair of pale pink coulottes and a cotton white underskirt, decorated with small ribbons. She also wears a pair of furry burgundy boots.

But the most challenging task was the realization of a kokoshnik, the traditional hat. I made it in burgundy lining with a silver edge and an embroidery of pink beads and sequins, with some beads dangling on both sides.

Anche le basi per le mie bamboline stanno migliorando... grazie a mio papà che ha casualmente detto si avere una sega circolare.... è subito stato messo al lavoro!
My doll stands also are improving, thanks to my dad casual mentioning he has a circular saw... he's been imediately sent to work!
