Decisamente non sono tecnologica. L'altra mattina mi è caduto il pc : risultato la tastiera da sostituire  nessuna idea di quando questo succederá (meravigliosi centri assistenza ....) Pazienza, si può pensare ci sono cose più gravi che possono succedere. Ed è vero.  È che è l'ultimo episodio di tutta una serie di piccoli e meno piccoli contrattempi che rischiano di rovinare uno dei periodi dell'anno che amo di più: dicembre.
Inoltre stavo iniziando ad assemblare il nuovo catalogo. ... tempismo perfetto.
Pazienza,  you take what you have and you learn to make do.

In ogni caso non temete cercherò ugualmente di aggiornare la carrellata di idee natalizie! !

Questo Natale.....

...sta arrivando più in fretta del previsto (cosa che succede tuttli gli anni ma non mi abituerò mai!).
Visto che siamo in tema, una piccola riflessione.

Dolls of the World - Uzbekistan

Senza nemmeno rendermene conto Ottobre è volato via ed è già Novembre.
Forse non me ne rendo conto perchè fa ancora abbastanza caldo, c'è tanta luce tutto intorno che basta uscire sul balcone per  respirare quell'atmosfera dorata che in genere, anche se con temeperature un po' più alte, ci regala Settembre.
E io non me lo sono goduto quasi nemmeno, questo bellissimo mese, correndo dietro a mille impegni ed appuntamenti. Oggi, per la prima volta da non so quando, posso dedicare l'intera giornata al relax, a me e alla mia casa. Tolte le decorazioni di Halloween ho pensato di aggiornare il blog con una delle ultime creazioni: Lady Uzbekistan.

Without realizing it, October flew away and it's already November.
Maybe I havent realized it because it's still reasonably warm, there's so much light all around that just stepping out on the balcony is enough to breathe the golden atmosphere that (with some degrees more) usually September gives us.
And I haven't enjoyed much, this beloved month, running after so many things and so many appointments. Today it's the first day since I don't remember when that I can just relax, think about me and my home. I removed all the Halloween decorations and I thought of updating the blog with one of my latest creations: Lady Uzbekistan.

Premessa. Quest'estate nonostante l'estrema spossatezza e pigrizia che hanno caratterizzato le mie giornate ho portato a termine un progettino (che man mano che procedeva diventava un progettone). Inizialmente le mie piccole Tilde - Dolls of the World una volta realizzate venivano dotate di un cordino sulla schiena con il quale le appendevo ad una parete della mia craft room, proprio sotto al mappamondo su cui segno i posti visitati. Ma non mi convinceva. Era una delle soluzioni facili e veloci che spesso adotto per non dover aspettare l'idea giusta.

A little premise. This summer, even with the extreme tireness and lazyness that filled my days I completed a little project (that while in progress grew bigger and bigger). In the begining my small Tildas - Dolls of the World, once realized, were hung by a small hoop on their back on a wall in my craft room, just below the world map. But that disn't convince me at all. It was one of the easy and fast solutions I often go for when I'm too impatient to wait for the right idea.

Ho deciso che però meritavano meglio, anche perchè è una piccola collezione a cui mi sto affezionando sempre di più: cercare l'idea, l'ispirazione giusta, i tessuti più adatti, colori, tinte, acconciature, accessori per riportare in vita un ricordo e poi è hand made, esattamente come piace a me (comprare una bambola in ogni posto che visito non avrebbe lo stesso significato rispetto a crearne una, no?).
Quindi ho acquistato delle mensoline Ribba (IKEA), quelle su cui possono essere appoggiate delle cornici, poco profonde e con un piccolo gradino per evitare che il contenuto scivoli. E poi per ciascuna delle mie ladies ho creato un piccolo supporto in legno con il nome del Paese da cui proviene e un fil di ferro ricoperto che avvolgendosi intorno alle gambe permette loro di stare in piedi.
Visto che come dice sempre mia nonna "fare e disfare è sempre lavorare" ho approfittato del momento per ricucire loro le braccia (il modello che ho usato dava un po' l'impressione di tante bamboline crocifisse....), per sistemare dettagli e particolari di cui non ero soddisfatta e... per cucire per ciascuna di loro anche della lingerie abbinata all'abito. Insomma, se il lavoro deve essere fatto bene, ogni dettaglio conta, non importa il tempo che devo dedicarci!

But I decided they deserve something better, also because it's a small collection which I'm growing fonder every day more: looking for the right idea, inspiration, the more suitable fabrics, colours, headpieces and accessories to recreate the memory of a place... and it's all hand made just the way I like it (buying a doll in every visited country hasn't the same meaning, has it??)
So I bought some Ribba little shelves (IKEA), the ones used to display frames on, narow and with a little "dent" not to make the content slip. And for each of my ladies I creates a little stand with wood with the name of the country and iron-wire to make them stand.
Ans, as my grandma says, "do and undo it's all work" (dunno how to translate it) I started sewing again the arms (the pattern I used gave the impression od many crucified dolls....), tried to fix some details I didn't like... and sew them also some lingerie! If you have to do a job, better doing it the most perfectly you can, no matter the time you need, right?

Così ecco Lady Uzbekistan.
Indossa un abito costituito da una blusa in chiffon blu scuro e un gonna in cotone stampato con i motivi ikat (acquistato là - avevo già deciso che i colori sarebbero stati blu, turchese e azzurro).
La blusa, molto corta in vita, è arricchita da un bordo di paillettes turchese metallizzato e i polsi da piccole perline trasparenti e azzurre.

So, here you are Lady Uzbekistan.
She wears an ensamble made of a dark blue chiffon blouse and a skirt in an ikat printed cotton (I bought it there, I had already decided that the colours should have been blue, dark blue and turquoise).
The blouse, wich is very short has been enriched on the hems with metallic turquoise sequins and on the cuffs with transparent and blue seed beads.

 La gonna è molto semplice,  leggermente svasata ed è trattenuta in vita da una cinturona in un tessuto metallizzato color argento dal quale pendono due fili di catene con pendenti argento anticato circolari.

The skirt is very simple, lightly flared and is kept by a high silver metallic fabric belt at which two chains are hung with a bunch of round opaque silver charms.

Gli stessi charms sono stati utilizzati per gli orecchini, mentre il copricapo tipico di queste zone dell'Asia Centrale è stato realizzato in cotone pesante blu decorato con perline argentate e piccole catenelle. Dal retro pende un lungo velo in rete argentata.

The same charms have been used for the earrings, while the traditional hat has been sewn in a thick dark blue cotton and decorated with very small round silver seed beads and a thin chain. The back of the hat gives way to a silver net long veil.

Sotto la gonna porta una sottoveste azzurro cielo con un bordino in pizzo che aiuta ad aumentare il volume e mantenere meglio in forma la gonna e un paio di coulotte in pizzo color carne. Fortunatamente non ha praticamente seno quindi posso risparmiarmi il reggiseno se il top come in questo caso è molto scollato.

She also wears a light blue underskirt with a lace border which helps keeping the skirt in place and a pair of coulotte in a skin tone lace. She has no breast so I can spare myself the pain of making a very small bra when the blouse or the dress has a deep neckline.
