Jane Austen dolls

I have to confess it, I'm not such a great fan of Jane Austen. I read a couple of books and I saw some of the films that brought on the big screen her novels, but on the whole, contrary to my mum and my friend Alessandra, I don't love this novelist that much.
Ok, when I was in Bath I went and visited the Jane Austen Centre, but I am interested more in fashion and in the Old England atmosphere rather than in her characters. Anyway I decided I have to give her another chance and  I'm going to read something elese without prejudices.
But the Tilda Jane Austen Dolls ar lovely! I've been so happy I had to make two of them!! Super quick order (you know.. from Wednesday to Sunday....) but look at them!!
One of the two has a cute blue dress with small red roses, decorated with a coupleof blue ribbons and a bunch of little blue roses with pearls on the closure of the dress. She put the same flowers in her hair too.
Her little sister (better, big sister, as these dolls are much bigger than the ones I usually sew) has a yellow dress with small decorations in the mustard shade, white ribbons and flowers.
They're both lovely, aren't they???
I prefer the yellow one, as I love this colour that in its warmer shade is shining from each shop window this winter.
And now... while knitting new super glamorous scarves and necwwarmers, let's start with the Christmas projects!!
See ya!

Autumn decoration (centerpiece)

Super easy autumn centerpiece

Super easy autumn centerpiece and display

While waiting to decorate my home for Halloween (I'll start on monday... ok celebrate this anglo-saxon occasion but display everywhere whitches, spiders and potion bottles one month in advance... well that's a bit too much!), here you are the autumn variation of my easy summer centerpiece (remember that? here you are the post and the tutorial).
I just removed the little fishes and added a small pumpkin, I replaced the white/blue/red scrap ribbons with orange/brown/mustard ones and the summer flowers with fall ones.
This time too the flowers come from IKEA (the big daisies) while I already had the orange ones at home. The fabric scraps come from other projects and the rest (vase, burlap and twigs) is the same of the other centerpiece.

This time too it took just half an hour to transform a little corner and create a little "autumn mood". I added a couple of corns my mom gave me, a big decorative pumpkin I purchased at the supermarket and three small orange candles (you guessd! IKEA again!).

Come on, it's so beautiful to decorate your own home!!
See ya

EARRINGS!

My creative periods shift with no rule one into the other: there are weeks in which I can't take myself away from paper and from my scrapbooking projects, be it looking for inspiration or the very realizing something, other weeks I am not able to stop knitting....
In these days I am into jewellery making and I have prepared a lot of earrings, necklaces and bracelets. I am using some materials which I don't generally use veru much, such as the raku ceramics (a japanese technique) but this winter there will be a lot of ethnic both in the style and in the materials, so I thought to give it a try.
Here you are my very last earrings creations!!!
We have the jungle-look effect, some in filigraine with coloured little roses, optical and iridescent plastic for the younger, a little orange Halloween skull, an indian-style cascade of small crystals, semi-precious stones (a little bit more serious...)

Buona giornata a tutti!

And finaly, here you are the Orange Cat, which is making the most of a bright morning sleeping in one of his favourite places: underneath the sheets of my bed!
Have a nice day you all!

Fashion-victim witches

Little twin Halloween witches

I know I have to finish my tour inside the Art Nouveau buildings of Milan (I promised you a visit to the aquarium, didn't I??) but I think I can dedicate myself to this only from sunday.
Why? Well, because on saturday Sister is getting married and I'm rushing through these days in a lot of working projects to complete and try to make concrete, the preparation for the Big Day (tomorrow I'll show you the pochette and jewellery I created for the occasion), a big commission for the birth of a baby girl and some other small jobs.
Well, anyway, considering that October 31st, Halloween, is getting nearer, and as you know I love to celebrate anything that concerns the anglo-saxon world, here you are a couple of little witches. The pattern is a variation form the angel/princess publicated on Tilda's Juleverkested that I love and used so much.
These two twin witches are fashion-victims: who said the witches need to be old and ugly??? They dressed themselves for the halloween night with a long orange dress decorated by little black stars, a long sparkling ostrich scarf and a little bracelet made of green crystals, green as the potions boiling in their cauldrons.
Now they just wait for the party to begin!!

Other glam scarflettes!

Divertentissima!

Here you are three other scarves/neckwarmers that I realized on sunday afternoon thanks to a day of bad weather and car circulation stop which  made me even more willing to stay at home with a cup of tea (did I need that??) :)
The first one is completely orange and it's made with a yarn which creates wonderful ruffles decorated at the bottom by small pom poms. Very funny!!

orange scarflette

The second one, instead, is a bit more serious, its colour varies from soft grey to ivory, it has the ruffles too which are made more precious and sparkling by a lurex floss inside the yarn. In this one the "net effect" of the yarn is more evident.

grey and ivory scarflette

The third and last, which I'm madly in love with and I'd like to recreate also in other colours, varies from grey to gold passing through ivory and has the small grey pom poms at the bottom of the ruffles.
They're quick and easy to make but very effective!
They give light to a common little pull or to a one-coloured dress, or they find their place, funnily, under a serius overcoat....

New, new, new!

Buongiorno!

Coraggio! Un regalino per noi stesse? Un regalino per le amiche?? Sicuramente quest'inverno  faranno tendenza!

Purple, fuchsia and lilac neckwarmer
Dark green, olive green and dark blue neckwarmer

Hi there. I use this morning in which I am not feeling well at all (throath-ache, a little flu and all the nice things that follow...) to show you my last works, which result very appropriate: the neckwarmers!!
They're funnier and more glamorous than scarves, they're a big hit overseas and so I decided I had to try them.
These two are relaized with a big multi-coloured floss which creates the ruches effect.
I have also others in preparation with different materials and colours.
So? Anyone interested?? A little present for ourselves? A little present for our friends?? For sure they will be a must for this winter!

Forgotten peace....

I had almost forgotten the wonderful sensation of getting up in the morning and having a very lazy breakfast without having to run somewhere! It is a couple of weeks that I start running in the morning and I finish, exhausted, in the evening. Today I could take my time.
What a peace!

Muffins, anyone???

Felt muffin keychains

Hello there! Thanks to the efficiency of the UK postage system which has delivered in no time a precious little package full of delicious tiny buttons, here you are the muffin keychains!!
What do you think? Aren't they adorable????
It's all felt, a small piece of ribbon and the pastel coloured buttons. All hand-sewn with embroidery floss. The pattern is easy but, I think, effective.
I'm in love with them!
